Gujarat CM Distributes NAMO (New Avenues of Modern Education tablets) e-Tablets to Students

With an aim to provide Digital India mission more forward, Gujarat Government distributing the tablets to the students. For the students, tablets acted as a Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Krishna. Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani distributes NAMO (New Avenues of Modern Education tablets) e-tablets to the students of Junagadh, Gir, Somnath, and Dwarka.

In his speech, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani said that youth have to lead the global competition of knowledge. CM Shri Vijay Rupani also announces Free WiFi across the state. Well if we see the past couple of months’ work then I have to say that state Government has taken revolutionary and noticeable decision to empower the youth. The government has made a provision worth Rs. 200 crores for these tablets. The tablets which have a number of benefits have been given to the youth at the cost of Rs. 1000. Read more

History (An Overview) of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Pravasi Bhartiya Divas is celebrated each year to mark the contribution of the overseas Indian Community to the development of India. India has the largest diaspora in the world after China, including a large number of Gujaratis.

Pravasi Bhartiya Divas aims to connect the Indian diasporas across the world to their motherland. Every year, the meet receives dignitaries and prestigious guests including political figures as well as business tycoons. Non resident Gujaratis can contribute to the growth of our country in a number of ways, such as utilising their talent, experience and discipline in the development process.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas holds a special significance for Gujarat, as Gujaratis have a huge global presence. Gujaratis form a large part of the Indian Diaspora.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated in India on 9 January each year to commemorate the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India on 9 January 1915. Established in 2003, it is sponsored by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs of the Government of India and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and industry (FICCI) the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region of India. A celebratory event is held on 7-9 January each year in an Indian city: a forum for issues concerning the Indian Diaspora is organised and the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards are given.

For the year 2015, the 13th edition of the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas, Gandhinagar has been chosen as the destination. January 7th to 9th has been marked for celebrating the achievements of the Indian Diaspora, who have made the nation proud all over the world.

During the event, works and achievements of Mahatma Gandhi will be showcased at the venue. A major highlight of the event is the inauguration of the Salt Mound or Dandi Kutir opposite Mahatma Mandir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the occasion.

On January 7, the youth segment of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas will be inaugurated with the theme “Bharat Ko Jaano” and “Bharat Ko Maano”, with the aim of familiarising children of immigrant Indians with the traditions and history of the country as well as its modern day achievements in different fields.

This year. key points of interests that will be highlighted are the Namami Ganga, Swachcha Bharat, Skill Development and Urban Development programmes, and NRIs and People of Indian origin(PI0) would be impressed upon to take part in them. Another highlight at this event will be "Make in India'''.

Gunotsav - Evaluating qualitative development in Education

Chief Minister of Gujarat Anandiben Patel launched three day statewide “Gunotsav Abhiyan” on November 20, 2014 from a school in Mahisagar district. This is Gujarat state’s revolutionary measure to ensure standards of quality in education across the state.

At the launch of Gunotsav 2014, the CM appealed to society to contribute towards Government’s efforts to provide basic amenities to villages. The statewide drive was launched from the government-run primary school in Hardaspur. Here, the CM said that the state Government  is committed to providing city-like basic facilities in every villages of Gujarat.

The statewide three day Gunotsav Abhiyan aims at qualitative improvement of primary education and ranking of schools all over the state. While visiting the schools, the CM Anandiben Patel tested out firsthand the health of the school children and cleanliness aspects of the schools. With the Gujarat taking a leap towards the nation-wide cleanliness campaign, this was an important quality issues during this year’s Gunotsav Abhiyan.

LokSamvad Setu - Building A Bridge Between People and Government

In a democratic government set up, it is the duty of the government to understand the problems of their people and redress any such issues. For the country and the state, as populated and diverse like ours, it is essential to ensure that the distance between the government and people remains minimal. There has to be a ‘bridge’ which connects people to the government. The idea of good governance which the State of Gujarat firmly believes in can only be released when the government puts aside the old approach and proactively strives to redress the common man's grievances.

This endeavor requires creating a mechanism with the help of which, the government officials are apprised of the people’s problems, especially at a district and taluka level._ For this, former Chief Minister Narendra Modi adopted a two-pronged strategy along the lines of Mahatma Gandhi's idea of Gram Swaraj. At one hand, 'Aapno Taluko, Vibrant Taluko' programme was launched with an aim to decentralize administrative power and to provide all public services at the local level. On the other hand, the programme — ‘SWAGAT online’ — was launched, a scheme through which the Chief minister can directly listen to the problems of the people and provide solutions to their grievances. This very popular programme, a ray of hope for common people. has also bagged the United Nation's Public Service` award.

Giving further impetus to this endeavour, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Anandiben Patel launched Loksamvad Setu programme on August 01, 2014 at Matar in Kheda district.. This was done with a view to resolve people's grievances in a time-bound manner at the local level_ The first loksamvad setu saw positive redressal to 160 issues of the people.

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel has taken forward the former CM Narendra Modi's idea of inclusive governance and given it a further impetus under the idea of ‘Gatisheel Gujarat'. She has taken up the initiative to continue leading the stale on the path of development, but with a greater speed and force. 'Loksamvad Setu' is an important part of this greater goal, to ensure immediate redressal of all issues so that Gujarat reaches its goal of development faster.

'Loksamvad’ is a Gujarati word which literally translates to 'Dialogue with people', and the word "Setu” means bridge. “Loksamvad Setu” aims to be a bridge of communication between the people and the government.

The Government used various media of mass communication to acquaint people with this programme and to call for submission of their taluka and district level issues, People took this opportunity and put forward their problems_ These were then sent to the concerned district/taluka offices. The concerned offices resolved the problems and informed the applicants about it in written during the programme,

MPs, MLAs, District Panchayat Presidents, Panchayat members of the concerned talukas and municipality chairman were invited to the programme. Besides, officials including district collector, District Development Officer, district police chief and taluka office head also attended the programme.
