Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani joined the people of Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh and other states residing here at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad in Chhat Puja, their biggest festival of fasting and feasting after bath in the holy water, to invoke the blessings of the Sun God.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that people from all over the country have made Gujarat their work place and home as they celebrate their festivals with éclat and enthusiasm, contributing to the social milieu and all-round development of the state, reflecting social equanimity. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure their safety and security. Over the years, a large number of Gujaratis also join the people of other states in festivals like Ganesh Utsav or Durga Puja, Rath Yatra or Navratri.
