Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today visited three villages of Mahundra, Halisa and Dhanap in Shivpura in Gandhinagar district to see firsthand the collective farming by 59 families on 150 hectares through cent percent Israeli system of sprinkler and drip irrigation. They are growing groundnut, potato and date palm.
Impressed by the sustainable agriculture’s pilot project of collective farming, he wished the experiment be implemented elsewhere in the state. Drip irrigation comes handy in years of drought. He was also impressed by crop protection, recycling empty containers of pesticides.
