Gujarat CM attends golden jubilee of Sheth HM Chaudhry Navchetan Vidyalay at Gunja



Even as Gujarat has embarked on modernization of education from kindergarten to postgraduate level, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that education has become all the more essential in this age of knowledge for ‘application of technology’ – be it in farming or self-employment – necessary to compete in the global arena.

Speaking at the golden jubilee of the Sheth HM Chaudhry Navchetan Vidyalay at Gunja village, he said the state government allocates Rs.27,000-crore on education, with greater use of computers, tablets, audiovisuals from as early as Standard VII.

While the competition is increasing for higher education so that students need not go to other states, he said the government is opening more institutes of higher learning in Gujarat itself and at the same time laying stress on girls’ education as well as reducing dropout rate.

He listed the ongoing development works in the surrounding areas of Ghaghusan to Redlakshmipura, Kherva to Visnagar pipelines and Rajgarh, on priority basis.

Mr. Rupani paid his tributes to the martyrs killed in terrorist attack at Pulwama in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Chief Minister felicitated chief donor Dalsangbhai Chaudhry, other donors and ex-students at the golden jubilee function. The Mandal presented a cheque of Rs.1.01-lakh to Chief Minister’s Fund for Girls’ Education.

Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma also spoke on the occasion.
