Gujarat Govt Sanctions Rs. 45 Cr for Reconstruction of Vadodara Food & Drug Testing Lab


Good news for the people of Vadodara as state government recently sanctioned amount of Rs. 45 crore for the reconstruction of food and drug testing laboratory. Sanctioned amount is come from memorandum of understanding signed between state government and ministry of health for rebuilding. Vadodara food and drug testing laboratory is considered in biggest and oldest testing laboratory in India’s western part. 

For this, Gujarat government building a new state of art multi-storied building to satisfy current and future requirement of regulatory need. Commissioner of Gujarat FDCA Shri Dr. H. G. Koshia said that if things are going as per our plan than we’ll ensure that this laboratory work will complete in year and after that we leverage the operation work. 

Dr. Koshia also added that In year of 2014-15, Vadodara’s existing testing laboratory has tested 11,300 drug samples while 12,000 plus food samples. Currently there are four laboratories in state and two of them are dedicated to food testing which are based in Rajkot and Bhuj.
